Every week an owner tells me they need more leads.
Then I ask what happens when the phone rings. Who answers. What they say. How many of those calls turn into a paying customer.
The room gets quiet.
Getting someone to call is the smaller job. What happens when they do decides whether the marketing paid for itself.
Getting someone to call, book or send an email is the smaller job. Getting them to buy is the real work. I would never tell an owner to put more money into marketing until they know how they close.
Otherwise the marketing works and the business still loses.
The best and most profitable companies I have worked with are not the loudest. They are the ones with a clear way to turn interest into a decision. Every company is in the business of selling. The only question is how well.
Before you spend another dollar on reach, answer these about your own offer, as if you were the customer: Why would I want this? Why would I choose this business over the one down the street? What pain does it remove? What time does it save me? Will I make money, or keep money, because of it?
If you cannot answer those in plain words, your customer cannot either.
Then fix the moment of contact. Today that moment is often after hours, on the phone, with nobody there.
We built Pono Medical Billing a complete platform from scratch. The website shows a practice owner what they get before anyone picks up. Voice AI answers the call when the team cannot. A practice owner who can see the result, and who gets an answer when they call, decides faster.
That is the order. Close first, then reach.
New tools fill the calendar. Old skills win the call. You need both, and you need them in that order.
If someone called your business at 9 PM tonight, what would happen?
Peter teaches the order that turns attention into customers on Tuesday, October 20 in Draper, and on Zoom Wednesday, October 21 at 11 AM Mountain.
