Having a Facebook account does not mean you understand social media.
Neither does having teenagers who live on their phones. They have opinions about it. They do not yet have experience turning attention into customers. Handing them your brand can cost you your reputation.
Most owners I meet are not short on posts. They are short on a plan.
Posting more without a plan is not a strategy. It is more of the same noise, delivered faster.
When CB Insights read the post-mortems of failed startups, the top reason founders gave was not poor marketing. It was no market need: 42% built something nobody wanted badly enough. Most of them went with their gut and never checked.
Social media is the fastest way to check. It gives you feedback every day. Likes and shares tell you a little. Bookings and purchases tell you everything. But only if you gave people a path to take.
So before you post again, plan the whole thing, concept to completion:
What you are offering, in one sentence.
Who it is for. One person, not a demographic.
Where they actually spend time.
When you will post, and how often you can keep it up.
How someone goes from a post to a conversation.
Why they should care today.
Then test it against four questions. Do they want it? Will they share it? Is anyone else already doing it? What will it cost you in time, energy and team?
Mike Gardner, founder of Illumicraze, showed me what this looks like when it works. He turned 40,000 cell phones into a stadium light show. Most marketing asks people to watch. His put the audience inside it.
That is a strategy. Someone decided what the crowd should feel and built the path to get them there. The phones were just the delivery.
Find a mentor who has done this, not someone with opinions about it. Iron sharpens iron. Rubbing your blade on wood only makes it dull.
What is one thing you post only because everyone else does?
